Mission Statement

The library media centers of the Marblehead Public School system are committed to raising the level of student academic achievement by enhancing and expanding library services in Marblehead. Services are provided which encourage children and young adults to love and appreciate reading and good literature, create capable and critical users of information and technology, and promote critical thinking.

The skills taught by the library media specialist in each school are:

1.  How to choose books for personal reading development

2.  How to locate information using different resources

3.  How to select, evaluate, and synthesize information

4.  How to organize and present information using a variety of resources
